I was busy this past weekend so I didn't get much done until yesterday. I had to make a clamping caul to use to glue the bridge plate. Later in the process, this same caul will be used when the bridge is glued to the finished guitar body. I glued together a few pieces of pine and then shaped the caul is it would be slightly smaller then the bridge plate - after all, I don't want to glue it to the plate and X-braces by accident! Below are a picture of the caul, as well as of the method I am using to clamp the bridge plate. I glued the plate, and my clamping method (as silly looking as many of my methods probably are to experienced luthiers) seemed to do a good job of clamping the plate in place nice and tight. Next job will be to glue the tone bars in place!
